About

le french explorer

My name is Andy-Riwan Gernet and I am a French Expat in Montréal and the creator of this blog. I had the chance to travel to 20 different countries and I choose one to call home: Canada. Since 2017, I am living in Montréal, first as a Working Holiday Visa Maker, then an Expat’.

I have a passion for all things exploring. Whether in my own city of Montréal, in Québec, in Canada or around the world. I can’t keep looking for new things to discover.

A SHORT HISTORY:

Born and raise in France, I studied a Bachelor in Law, Accounting and Economics before going to Ireland as an Erasmus in order to learn English. Then, I started a Master degree in Communication & Marketing and graduated from Audencia – Sciencescom School.

From 2010 to 2014, I have worked for multiple prestigious clients as Jean-Paul Gaultier, New York CityTourism AustraliaTourism MontréalAvisAdidas, and many others… as a Communication and Marketing Consultant.

In 2014, I decided to go to Australia for a 2 years trip as a Working Holiday Visa Maker and ended up extending my return by exploring South East (Indonesia and Thailand) as well as the incredible India.

AND TODAY?

Today, after 5 years of living in Montréal, I decided to call this country home for now with friends and a part of my family. The decision of staying in Canada didn’t take me long because as a member of the LGBT Community, a life in Canada was the right choice for me. But not only as Montréal is a vibrant city full of Festivals, Restaurants and diversity. And Canada has definitely a lot to offer.

MY MISSION:

If you read this blog, you probably looking for any tips, activities or things to discover. And I’ll try my best to share with you what you can do and where you can go. I will help you to plan your weekend or even your vacations from my own experiences.  Follow me on my journey, it’s just a beginning!
